Crochet Doily (Fiber Art)

As it is December, have to crochet something in snowy white and decided upon doing a doily which I can finish fast.  As all my previous doilies are round-shaped, thought of doing a differently shaped one and came across this elegant diamond-shaped doily.  The pattern is from a Japanese magazine “Elegant Crochet Lace”, Doily No. 25.

Pretty Flowery Crochet Basket

I was making a drawstring bag.  In the midst of making this bag, I came across this cute little basket 🙂 …I found this really cute and felt this deserves a separate post for its cuteness…I think there may be numerous step by step pattern instructions all through the net, but I thought of giving in between pictures of how I made it so that it will be helpful for those who want to make it at one place itself and they don’t have to go in search of pattern.

Pattern or How I made this basket 🙂 …

First make 5 square motifs of your choice.  I made these popcorn flower granny square.  For pattern, check my post

Join the squares to form a strip..

Join the end sides of the strip to form a ring…

basket1b

For base of the basket, as there are five squares I made a granny pentagon (5 sides) instead of granny square…

Attach the previously made ring to the base…

Christmas Bells Filet Crochet

Filet crochet is a crocheting technique that can be used to crochet a picture or image.  Filet crochet is done by dividing the picture into a grid-like structure and filling the parts with crochet stitches (mostly chain, single, and double crochets).

The pattern was published in the magazine Magic Crochet #78.

Blue Pineapples Doily

This is one of my old crochet works, which is a basic pineapple design…It is easy to crochet and the pattern with multiple pineapple motifs placed in a symmetric fashion and the picot edging gives the doily a delicate lacy look…

The pattern is available for free in Ravelry.

Exquisite Crochet Doily

I should say this should be one of the best doilies I’ve ever made so far.  The pattern is from Leisure Arts #3588 Extra-Special Doilies by Mary Werst.  As the name suggests, it is EXQUISITE and the design is so intricate that when you work on it rounds after rounds, it makes you feel you are a great crocheter..The book has inspired me so much now that I have to work on the other great designs in this magazine.
