Sofa Set Seat Covers (3+1+1)

As a part of my living room decor, started working on the sofa set seat covers and finally completed them..this was getting delayed due to my habit of starting on numerous projects simultaneously and working on each one of them in between :)…now, started working on the back seat covers…hope to finish it soon 🙂 …

Pattern:  I just used the simple granny square pattern.  For the big square at the center – 24 rounds of soft brown, 1 round of black, 1 round of white, and 1 round of black again.  For the small squares (you need 20 of them) – 6 rounds each.

3-Seater Sofa Seat Cover (Granny Square)

I’m now into decorating my living room with crocheted things…first I made few doilies, then the granny square carpet, now made this sofa seat cover with granny square patterns with colors that matched my wall and furniture 🙂 …wanted the colors to be bright, but not so bright to chase people off :)…so chose these soft brown, black, & white…felt it had the kind of warmth that I needed, and found it to be inviting and relaxing…pleasant and soothing to the eyes 🙂

WIP: Scrap Yarn Rug/Mat/Throw (Crochet)

Whenever I see something colorful in the art/craft exhibitions, I always think I should use my scrap yarn to make this…and, finally I started to make two rugs/mats, a round one with acrylic wool and another a rectangular one with a mixture of cotton, wool, and nylon yarns.

These kind of things in addition to adding colors to the room, creates a whole of ethnic charm and gives the room a lively atmosphere.

Pinwheel Rose Baby Blanket

A lovely blanket for a lovely baby.  I made this delicate soft baby wool blanket for my niece’s baby.  The pattern is from “The Best of Maggie Weldon Crochet Afghans.”   I added an extra round to each square and the lacy edging is from a crochet borders magazine.  The pattern had the pinwheel rose in all the squares, but as I used a bright red color for the flower, I alternated it with plain classic granny squares.
