Handmade Greeting Cards – 1

“No matter the time…No matter the weather…It’s always fun when we are together…”

Beautiful quote 🙂 ..isn’t it???

As I’ve fallen short of my finished crochet projects with all of them in “work in progress” mode…I thought of sharing my other interests here…one of them is the paper modeling which I discussed in my previous post.

Other one is wishing my near and dear ones on their memorable days…be it either birthdays or anniversaries etc., with my own handmade greeting cards…..Just used sketch pens and gel pens to make these and added quotes from the internet to match the occasion 🙂 … very easy right???

So, I thought I’ll share with you all some of the drawings/characters I used to make my cards…

Here is my collection for the above said quote…As I’ve only few, thought of posting one by one in separate posts 🙂 …

Note1:  These are the drawings that I hand drew looking at some printed cards or pictures from the internet and sorted them in my own categories 🙂 ….

Note2:  My son too is interested in arts and crafts…so, for this summer holidays to keep himself occupied, he has created his own blog to display and share some of his creations 🙂 …

3D Paper Miniature Models – Paper Craft

Apart from my main hobby of crocheting, one of my other interest is creating 3D paper models.  Lots of printable downloads are available on the internet to create stunningly good looking three dimensional paper models.  This  mainly involves taking printouts, cutting, folding, and gluing the pieces together to make splendid architectures, monuments, toys, vehicles, animals, birds etc..anything you name, you get the model on the internet.  My interest mainly lie on the architectural/monumental side.

These are some of the models I’ve made 🙂 …They all have worn out somewhat because they are all around 8 to 10 years old 🙂 .  They include Eiffel Tower, Neuschwanstein  Castle, Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, White House, Big Ben…

I used the below-mentioned sites to download the printable models 🙂 …

Canon Creative Park

Paper Toys

Disney Experience

Seven Wonders

Many more sites are available with free models, in that I found these most useful with many beautiful perfect models 🙂 …

Extravagant Doily – Crochet

This is one of the best doilies that I have worked on. The doily is so well designed with intricate stitches that will inspire you to work on and on, rounds after rounds, and you don’t want to stop until you finish the last line, it is so gripping 🙂 …

The pattern is from Leisure Arts #3588 Extra-Special Doilies by Mary Werst.

Bright Little Crochet Flower

Most of the time I use lighter shades of colors to crochet flowers…so this time thought of doing one in bright colors to see if it changes my mind and it indeed did 🙂 …I liked the outcome and felt the bright colors made it more attractive… maybe I should crochet flowers in bright colors too :)…I think it will go well with any fashion accessories like dresses, hairband, bags, purse, ornamental hangings etc. 🙂 …

My son helped me in taking pictures 🙂 …it was his idea to take photos of it with the butterflies 🙂 …
